In this chapter, we’re back with Mary and meet her colleague Dr Oliver Payne. They’re visited by creepy Charles/Boreal who offers to help fund the research, but only if they make some morally sketchy changes to its direction. Mary uses The Cave to speak to Dust and is told she has a special mission and must play the serpent. She follows these instructions and ends up going through a window into Cittagazze.
