You got to really want God or Truth or whatever it is that you know that 'what you are' is already That..and it doesn't come wrapped with particular signs.
The sign is that you are already alive, you have consciousness and ability, that you breathe ..that is a sure sign that you are Essence.
If you really want to realise what you are, then stay open for what that is... constantly. Not as effort but as Love ..then the blackbird is going to sing it, the fish are going to wriggle it in the water, the breeze is going to blow it and someone who can pick up the guitar and play great music is going to touch your soul. there is nothing but God alive here.
