Last year, Neuberger Berman launched an advance proxy voting initiative where we disclosed over 25 votes across various companies we engage with as a firm. Using broad analysis and insights, the ESG Investing team evaluated what, in their view, is important to share with these companies in order to make a difference or highlight good behavior. Especially after a year like 2020, how do we engage with companies in order to make a meaningful impact going forward? To get more of an understanding of what’s changed in the initiative, Caitlin McSherry, Director of Investment Stewardship, speaks with Anu Rajakumar on Disruptive Forces to discuss the proxy voting process and what will be highlighted in the proxy season ahead.
