The Jewish religious festival known as Shavuot goes by many other names, like the Feast of Weeks, or First Fruits. Most Christians know it as Pentecost, and think of it as the day when the Holy Spirit was given to the church (Acts 2:1-47). But did you ever stop to think why God chose *that* day to send the Holy Spirit?

After all, the Old Covenant religious feasts all had important significance—yes, for God's people Israel then, but also for God's people today—and God never does anything without a good reason. So what was his reason for sending the Holy Spirit on Pentecost?   Today Roy Schwarcz is going to reveal the biblical importance of Shavuot, how it points to the Messiah, and what meaning believers can draw from it today.  Specifically, you will learn about:

The meaning of "Shavuot" and how the festival was to be celebrated.

The connection between the *first* first fruits, the barley harvest, and the *second* first fruits of the wheat harvest, and how these point forward to Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

How to draw on the meaning of Shavuot/Pentecost to share the Gospel with your Jewish friends, family and neighbors.

...and more!
