Fatima AbdulKarim and Juhana Pettersson are the honorary guests for Fastaval 2020 and 2021. They were two members of the core organizing team of the Palestinian-Finnish larp Halat hisar (which means “State of siege”) in which they emulate the experience of being oppressed through a fictional foreign countries forces that interfere in the life of students and staff at a Finnish university. In this first episode in English of Larping Out Loud, Fatima and Juhana tell the interesting story of the larp itself and of their views on larp as a political tool.
