Becky French is Turnbull & Asser’s Creative Director. Following an impressive career designing for the likes of Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Aquascutum, and founding her own brand, Marwood, Becky has joined Turnbull & Asser with a fresh new vision for the brand, gently contemporising this 135-year-old British shirtmaker in all the right ways.Becky talks through her vision for Turnbull, and why it’s so important for heritage brands to be more ‘open’ in today’s retail landscape. We talk about her new campaigns and product designs, which are rooted in the brand’s past but relevant to today’s consumer. Finally, we explore those things in the brand’s DNA that help Turnbull & Asser to stand out among other shirtmakers, and why made-in-England menswear really does matter.---HandCut Radio is produced in collaboration with Birch, a London and New York based creative agency. Our theme music is by Joe Boyd.---Show Notes
