Diabetes is the epidemic of the 21st century. The western lifestyle gives you high risk of becoming obese and getting diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy is by far the most common complication of diabetes and end-stage complications include proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) and diabetic macular edema (DME), both induced by hyperglycemia.
This is the third and last episode in this series, together with Professor Jakob Grauslund from Odense, Denmark, where we discuss treament.
