As you become a career coach, you go through different stages. It’s a little different for everyone, but the basic stages are:

  • You realize that you love helping people and having deep conversations
  • You realize that coaching is something that you can actually do
  • You start coaching on the side of your full-time job
  • You eventually make the leap to full-time coach

But when you’re standing on that dock ready to get into the boat, how do you figure out when and how to make the leap?

Well, today, we’re going to hear from someone has recently made that leap. She officially decided to become a career coach full-time back in 2018, but had some mind gremlins to deal with. So you’re going to hear how she overcame those mind gremlins to make the leap.

You’ll also hear how she used Linkedin to get her first paid client, the value of investing in herself, and how she was able to go from crawling to jogging in just a matter of months.

I want to introduce you to our guest today, Erin Allett, a career coach at the University of Michigan.

She is also enrolled in our Professional Career Coach Training and Certification program.
