Welcome to another episode of the Decoding Purpose Podcast.
Now, when I was preparing for today's podcast I realised something interesting, and that was that I had never interviewed anyone about the connection between purpose and how we manage our finances.
I found this interesting because it also got me thinking the paradox between what it means to be a heat centred, purpose driven human living a life of deep service, while at the same time being 100% comfortable with asking for the money we need a) in order to survive and secondly to amplify our purpose. In chatting with some of my friends in this space it seems that sometimes there is an uncomfortable pull between the need to create purpose in our lives and the essential need for profits while doing it. I'm excited to say that amongst things today's guest and I dove straight into that chasm - because let's face it being worthy of purpose, means we are also worthy of wealth to make it happen.
But that is not all we covered. Today's guest is the incredible Janine Owen who has made it her mission to educate, inspire and activate 'The Raised Effect'. This includes raising money, but it also includes raising our games as women, as parents, and as purpose driven pioneers in a world that needs us to be the change more than ever before. Today's conversation was full of gold as we went around the world diving into parenting, driving profitable and purpose driven organisations, unpacking the role of the purpose economy, and we also took a deep dive into raw and juicy details of being empowered wild women in business, but more importantly in life.
To give you some background, For more than 15 years, Janine has mastered the art of crafting social change visions, curating strategies and in assisting social enterprises and non for profits to gain cut-through in the competitive charity space. She has headed up fundraising and marketing campaigns for some of Australia’s best-loved charities and social enterprises.
In 2017, Janine launched into the world of business when she established a consultancy agency Raised Collective. While leading Raised Collective, Janine identified a different problem that she knew she could solve. So many charities are desperately needing funds to continue their work, yet lacking necessary resources to deliver. In response to this issue, she launched Grant’d in 2019.
So without delay kick back and get ready to go on a golden adventure. Welcome to the podcast Janine Owen.
