I had the pleasure of meeting today's guest in Singapore at the end of last year, where we were both working. At the time we met, I was sitting in the hotel lobby with a mutual colleague when Catherine Molloy came bounding into the room with a beaming smile and excitedly waving a book around in the air. After shaking my hand with the certainty of a woman empowered, she proceeded to tell me that the book she was holding in her hand was the “The Million Dollar Handshake: The ultimate guide to revolutionise how you connect and communicate in business and life” - And that it was printed in Chinese.
This book became Cath's chart-topper putting her on the map as a global thought leader and speaker, and like so many of us right up until February this year she was booked on flight after flight attending conferences all over the world - And then the world stopped. All travel stopped. Conferences stopped. And you guessed it...Handshakes also stopped, but given handshakes date back to the 5th century B.C; Cath Molloy doesn't think that handshakes will be gone for long!
To give you some additional background on Cath along with being a best selling author, she is a communications expert specialising in leadership, sales & service. For 25 years, she has immersed herself in business, training, and facilitation mastering communication and body language psychology. Cath also holds a Masters Degree in Neuro-linguistic Programming as well as qualifications in Business, Leadership & Management. She is also a qualified DISC accredited consultant.
In today's conversation, Cath and I had a wonderful conversation with a focus on how we pivot with purpose. How do we pivot our sales strategy in the context of Covid 19? How do we ignite influence in a virtual environment? How can we become deeply conscious of our physical presence and body language online or in life - and going a little deeper, how does our connection to the body influence our connection to purpose?
