Bassist Tracy Wormworth of The Waitresses and The B-52's has a music journey that is a story of being at the right place at the right time, and having the talent and drive to meet each new adventure (though she says she was mostly fueled by the fearlessness of youth and general foolhardiness). Tracy picked up the bass at age 18, and started out playing fusion/electric jazz in NYC at places like CBGB and The Knitting Factory in the late 70s/early 80s. Then one day, when she was walking down the street with her bass she was asked to audition for The Waitresses and that's when she says Punk and New Wave found her.
