As it turns out, Andrew picked a good week to go to the beach. Since the last podcast, the Yankees were embarrassed by the Red Sox, Angels, and Mets in order, and their best pitchers (Gerrit Cole and Aroldis Chapman) looked more suspect than ever. Isn’t chaos great?
Andrew and Kunj caught up on this dismal 2-7 stretch of Yankees baseball that only further clouded the potential playoff picture. Fenway losses, Chapman meltdowns, and glum press conferences were all too frequent. Now, it’s not just Aaron Boone and Brian Cashman trying to put on a brave face, it’s also Hal Steinbrenner, who addressed the media after Wednesday night’s ninth-inning disaster. Great stuff.
