In the latest addition to the ATP Extra shows, two of our reds Phil Roberts and Gary Murray are joined by 2 times European cup winner, 4 times first division winner as well as a league cup, uefa cup and European super cup winner, David Fairclough. David discusses life growing up as a Liverpool fan and how he came to play and be a crucial part of his beloved club. He relives huge moments from his career, including his infamous goal and victory over St.Etienne on the way to claiming Liverpool’s first ever European cup. He gives an insight into the battles he faced to try and establish himself as a regular starter ahead of the likes of John Toshack, Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish. He goes on to discuss his “super sub” label and how he thought it was unjust, but how he’s also come to accept and enjoy it. David tells the lads how he came to the decision to leave Liverpool as well as many other “behind the scenes” stories. A thoroughly enjoyable and must listen for all reds.
