Service Ninja Moves For Dealing With "Difficult People" (Service Skills You're Never Taught Pt. 5) | Ep. 60

Dela

Notice the quotation marks around “difficult people”? Honestly, there is no such thing as an objectively difficult person. There is only the soup of emotional reactions you have to particular types of people that aren’t your favorite flavor. Obviously, you should keep yourself physically safe, but in most situations, people are only as harmful to the extent that you tell yourself they are compromising you. As Gandhi would say, "No one hurts me unless I let them."Recommended Pairings: Learn How To Navigate People’s NeedsThis episode discusses strategies for managing situations where you are confronted with people that are not making it easy to be served. And mindsets for managing the most important person in that equation: you. What stories are you creating around the idea that they are difficult? Where can you find unity? Where can you give up the need for unity, let the situation go and stop trying to fix it?Are people really being difficult or just not conforming to how you want things to go?Service seems easy when the people we serve make it easy via their awesomeness, but the key is to find it fulfilling even when they're not. The world is full of variation and you are bound not to instantly align with a good portion of them. There is no reason that this needs to compromise the quality of your experience. All you need are these skills, mindsets and lots of practice applying them. Fortunately...service gives us lots and lots of opportunities for practice (some would even say too many).Go Deeper Into The Mindful Service Movement:
