KEY TAKEAWAYS

Business

In business, I have very specific strengths, and those strengths are particularly strong.

I have the ability to think analytically – taking seemingly unrelated  facts and making them related.

I have divergent thinking – you take certain  facts and you come to an unusual conclusion; this is the creative part of the thinking process.

Most people have one or the other but don’t usually have both.

I have been successful in business because;

I was really clear about what I was good at and what I wasn’t good at

I had a high degree of value for people who were good at something different.

I became successful because of a team and how successful those people were at complimenting my skillset.

Football

I became involved in  a consortium that was being put together to purchase Leyton Orient and was the majority financial backer.

It took many, many, years for me to figure out how I could purchase a club and more years to actually find a club to buy.

Because of the emotional investment, I have made I have had many fantastic experiences and made lots of friends.

It’s important we build a sustainable club and understand the ambition of fans.

Our desire is that we win and draw a little bit more than we lose, so we build a winning football club.

BEST MOMENTS

‘I had wanted to buy a club for a very long time – I had a high interest and passion about wanting to achieve it’

‘I thought the UK would be a brilliant place to do something because of promotion and relegation’

‘With regard to making money, I would be better served to do almost anything else I could think of’

‘Owning a fourth or fifth division team is probably the worst way to make money’
