How can we be facilitators of learning in STEM for young black girls? Learn from Black Girls Do STEM, which does just that. In this bonus episode, we talk with the founder of BGDSTEM, Cynthia Chapple, as she shares how they designed STEM programs for young black girls rooted in scholarship, training, empowerment, equity, and mentorship. She teaches us the importance of knowing your why and listening to the stories of the people you are trying to serve. We hope this episode is a reminder of the responsibility we have in creating a more and diverse equitable future in STEM. We can take action today - volunteer with or donate to BGDSTEM or learn from their experiences to become a better facilitator of STEM knowledge in whatever capacity you can.
