Robert is a modern-day renaissance man with interests and activities spanning the wide breadth of professional audio. He is a 40-year veteran of the professional concert sound and recording industry and has mixed over 4000 events in his career. His engineering and production talents have been enlisted by a veritable ‘Who’s Who’ of marquee music acts, including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Matchbox Twenty, Jackson Browne, Rush, Def Leppard, Prince, and many others. And his body of live sound and recording work has resulted in numerous industry accolades and awards including 6 TEC Awards for technical and creative achievement in sound reinforcement and two PLSN Parnelli Awards for live sound engineer of the year.
Outside of his work in live music, Robert has consulted on and driven significant advancement in hardware, software, and workflow design for AVID’s “VENUE” line of live sound products. He is commonly regarded as the pioneer of the “virtual sound check” and creator of multi-track archiving workflows for live sound, reshaping the live sound landscape forever.
