Swallows FC have made a record-shattering return to the top flight, with the ‘Dube Birds’ sitting just behind log-leaders Sundowns having remained unbeaten. In a rare statistic, Swallows’ unbeaten run in league competition stretches back to March 2020, when the side were still fighting for promotion in the GladAfrica Championship. This makes their approach to the rest of the season all the more interesting, and their chairman is wary of how difficult the second half of league campaigns can be, which he discussed in his latest interview with Soccer Laduma.

In the SL Podcast’s latest episode of the Big Interview, Swallows FC Chairman David Mogashoa joins the show to discuss his side’s ambitions for the rest of the season, how they will approach the Nedbank competition, and which opposition makes him the most nervous. When asked if he prefers so-called ‘big games’ or matches against opposition lower on the table, Mogashoa said he prefers the big game, stating “We’re not worried about Sundowns, we believe we can match them toe-to-toe, it’s the teams that are below us that we’re worried about, even in the GladAfrica Championship, that was our approach.”
