On today’s episode, Nathan and Eric are joined once again by Dan Fleming (Potato League Podcast) for a very special episode. We’re reviewing WHO'S WITH ME? (2021), an ultra micro-budget quarantine film currently available to watch in its entirety for free on YouTube. (WHO'S WITH ME? YouTube link). Written and directed by Austin Allan James, WHO'S WITH ME? is about a man named Marcus who wakes up to find himself trapped in his apartment after a lock down has been imposed under mysterious circumstances. The idea for the film was conceived pre-COVID and has, of course, taken on a whole new relevance in the wake of an actual global quarantine. We question whether or not releasing the film post-pandemic actually helps or hurts it, and also discuss themes of grief, complacency, and creative compulsion. But before all that, we kick things off talking to Dan about what he is most looking forward to at Chattanooga Film Fest 2021 (June 24th - 29th!). So grab your boxing gloves, cuddle up with your favorite lady turtle, and follow the instructions on the screen. It’s time to discover WHO’S WITH ME?
