This week we continue our series on the films of Roland Emmerich with probably his most controversial film - the movie that is most likely to test one’s allegiance to the United States of Emmericha. That’s right… much to Nathan’s delight (and Eric’s chagrin), we’re talking about the first American version of GODZILLA (1998). Nathan and Eric are joined once again by the moderator for their King of the MARCHsters debate, Dan Fleming (HBO to Front Row), to ask themselves the big questions; is this movie better than its reputation suggests? Is Eric just a movie snob? How is a 200-foot tall iguana SO good at playing hide and seek? Why can’t anyone pronounce Tatopoulos? And, seriously, what is Matthew Broderick doing in this movie? So grab some bubblegum, strap into your elevationally-limited helicopter, and don’t forget your umbrella because it’s time to go deeper underground with our review of Roland Emmerich’s GODZILLA.
