What does it mean to love others as you love yourself?

My good friend, Adrea Peters, recently published her book, Becoming Truitt Skye: The City on the Sea, and a voicemail from Adrea inspires this episode.

Her voicemail brought forth the thought that we cannot unconditionally love others if we don’t unconditionally love ourselves. This idea is a growth zone for so many of us. The love that we give to ourselves is a reflection of the love we are capable of extending.

In this solo episode, I share the questions I ask myself, and I offer them as an invitation for you to do the same.

In This Episode You’ll Learn:

  • About my friend Adrea Peters and her book Becoming Truitt Skye: The City on the Sea   [ 5:20 ]
  • What happens when we withhold love from ourselves [ 8:20 ]
  • What to ask ourselves before we create [ 13:30 ]
  • How we can be unconditional with ourselves [ 17:15 ]

Soul Shifting Quotes:

  • “The love that we give to people is a reflection of the love that we feel for ourselves.”

  • “Deep down, we still hold a grudge against ourselves.”
  • “I can only be exactly who I am.”
  • “Try softer and be gentle.”
